The Wombat awareness page is designated to try and help everyone to become informed on the plight of our Wombats in general . We have tips for the traveller on the Wombat Rescue page showing how to help native animals if you come across injured or dead ones . We also have a number of pages specifically designed to give factual information on the 3 types of Wombats we have in Australia. Predominantly in the Ceduna area we deal with the Southern hairy nosed wombat, but also through the Wombat program have the pleasure of careing for other members of the wombat family . At the moment we have a beutiful Common Wombat called Bruce in our care. As luck would have it , the local Council in Ceduna has decided a fauna park is much needed in the area which works perfectly in helping us raise awareness of our Wombats and their plight. Lucky Bruce is going to be one of the Wombat placements in this park. As always be wombat aware when travelling at night on Australias country roads. Wombats are very robust and if you hit them with a car more often than not the wombats run off into the night injured while you are stranded because your front wheels are now where your back wheels are.
